Become a Fundraising Champ!
Fundraising Champs are community partners who hold events or fundraisers on behalf of Food4Kids WR. We are a small but mighty charity with very little funding so we count on our community to run these philanthropic endeavours to help us keep feeding our kids who are living with chronic hunger.

Let's work together - get in touch to discuss the many ways YOU - YOUR BUSINESS (big or small) - YOUR CLUB - YOUR TEAM - YOUR CHURCH - ETC - can help feed the hope of children today. The possibilities are endless...

There are many creative types of fundraising events you can hold – large or small - with the main goal of raising funds to support Food4Kids Waterloo Region. Events can be hosted by an individual or a company and are pre-approved and registered with Food4Kids WR. Groups organize, sponsor and hold the event and we help promote it via our social media.

- Your idea HERE!

Sports Tournaments: Host a tournament with friendly competition between teams. Each team raises a minimum amount of money through pledges. Event donations are made online through Canada Helps P2P Campaign directly to the charity. Easy, with impact.

Golf Tournaments: There is nothing better than to play a round of golf with friends, and support an organization that feeds children. Invite us to attend and run a contest hole for your players! Host your company golf tournament and donate the proceeds to Food4Kids Waterloo Region or make us the recipient of your tournament's proceeds.

Client and Supplier Gifts and Challenges: Providing the gift of nourishment to a hungry child is a gift worth giving in honour of your clients. For example, real estate agents donate to Food4Kids WR in lieu of a gift - on their client's behalf. They realize that you value them in a way that is meaningful. Ask your suppliers to support your cause by challenging them to support a child for a year.

Birthday Party / Celebration Alternatives
* Are you or someone you know and love having a birthday, anniversary, wedding? Encourage donations to F4KWR instead.
You take up a collection and bring it in to us, direct friends to donate via our Canada Helps Donation Page (with a note indicating your celebration) or you can can even set up a DONATE button on your Facebook Wall and we will receive the funds.
*Food Collection - some choose to collect food instead - get in touch to find out our Top 10 Food Needs please.

"In Honour / In Memory of" Contributions:
* Did someone close to you pass away? Make an In Memory donation in their honour. We will recognize the gift and the person you wish to remember. Please ensure we have the recipient's contact information if you would like them to receive notice of your gift.

*Do you wish to be remembered through a gift to a charity? Donate today.

Make it Real Hunger Challenge: A more serious fundraising event. Participants are provided with a typical food package from Food4Kids Waterloo Region. The participant is only allowed the food contained in the food package for the weekend. Pledges are collected to support participants’ commitment to experiencing first hand living with a limited food supply.

These are just a few ideas -- we are open to hear yours!
Please contact Jenn Birnstihl to discuss opportunities to plan your own fundraiser that will impact the lives of hungry children in our community!
